Sweat Academy is committed to being the best off-season development program for the game of basketball in the entire Atlantic region for high level competition players.
We believe that an equal amount of time needs to be spent in developing the body and the mind.

MEET
Our Coaching Team
Serge Langis
SA co-owner
Coach Langis has over 20 years experience coaching the game of basketball.
Over those 20 plus years, he has coached at the middle school level, high school level, provincial level, university level, national level and professional ranks. Coach Langis has a degree in Psychology from Saint Thomas University and an Education degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
He is a Level 3 Certified Coach by the National Coaching Certification of Canada. Coach Langis believes in lifelong learning for himself and also believes that player development is a lifelong process as well.

Micheal MacDougall
SA co-owner
Coach MacDougall has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the high school level. He started his coaching career at Morell High school while attending university at UPEI. He then returned to his alma mater where he coached at the Junior varsity level winning one provincial championship for RHS. He then moved up to be an assistant coach at the varsity level winning a provincial championship in 2004, and co-coached Riverview High to the NB AAA boys varsity basketball championship.
He continues to coach at the varsity level today. Coach MacDougall was also the assistant coach for the New Brunswick U15 provincial team in 2005, and also served a 2 year term as a board member for Basketball New Brunswick. Coach MacDougall believes deeply that the development of basketball players is the standard to which coaching should be measured. Having players extend their playing careers to a higher level and being successful is the ultimate goal.
Coach MacDougall is currently working as a team leader at Medavie Blue Cross and is serving at an Assistant Coach for the Mount Allison Mounties Varsity Men's Team.

Académie Sweat Academy has always had a vision of community in whatever we've decided to take on. What we want to achieve we cannot do alone. "It takes a village to raise a child" (or train a sweatmate). One organisation that truly embodies this quote is Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Coach Serge Langis has benefited tremendously as a young boy from this organisation because of his Big Brother Alphonse Dionne. This is why we want to pay it forward and help the organisation continue to do what they so critically do. For every Sweat Academy Moncton sign ups, a portion of the fee will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Moncton.
